Gas and oilfield equipment such as valves and pumps require periodic maintenance to remove clay, silt, rust and corrosion. Self-centering and self-aligning to the bore, the Flex-Hone® tool from Brush Research uses a low-temperature, low-abrading process to clean these metal surfaces.
The Flex-Hone® can also be used to maintain critical tolerances in the hydraulic cylinders that are used in pumps at petrochemical plants and chemical processing facilities. For the big-bore engines that power pumps used in natural gas pipeline operations, the tool is used to deglaze, refinish and crosshatch cylinder walls during engine overhauls.
